For “Glory Box” (2005), I constructed a glass rosary inside a 17’ foot “mermaid tank” during happy hour at a downtown bar. In preparation for swimming back and forth inside the improperly heated tank I interviewed one of the “mermaids”, who happened to work in the porn industry in LA. She instructed me to take several shots of vodka to help maintain my body temperature for the entire hour I was in the tank.
